Please put me on the list for successive copies of Vista as it comes out. I am particularly glad to have no 2 on Islam, in that I am increasingly involved with the largish communities of Muslims here in East Oxford, and am participating in a trio of local meetings this autumn arranged by two members of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Christian-Muslim Forum. But I am also very interested in the whole matter of Christian mission in Europe. And I am going in 10 days time to Belgrade, to the Orthodox Theological Seminary there as a member of Societas Oecumenica. So if you wanted something from that Seminary, let alone from Serbia more generally, I might be able to offer something when I’m back in September ! Greetings to Darrell, as ever, Martin C.

Martin,
We’ll be glad to subscribe you to Vista. The next is taking a closer look at secularisation in Europe. I think you’ll find it interesting.
We’d love to see/have a copy of anything you can bring back from Serbia.
You may also be interested to know that Darrell is also gradually developing a new blog on mission and unity called ‘a pleasing dream’. You can take sneak preview at http://missionandunity.wordpress.com
Thanks for you comment,
Darrell

[...] For Jim the run up to Easter was dominated by the preparation of the latest edition of Vista, the quarterly bulletin of the Nova Research Centre. Each edition of Vista focuses on a different issue related to mission in Europe and this one deals with the thorny issue of politics and the church. History has shown that when the church has got involved in politics the result has more often been the corruption of the church rather than the sanctification of society. Yet holding up our hands and doing and saying nothing in the political issues of our day (whether because of our own timidity or because we have accepted the secularist argument that Christians have nothing to say in the public arena) cannot be right either.
